Our Memberships and Affiliations
We believe that meaningful experience, recognised accredited qualifications and ongoing Continual Profesional Development (CPD), goes a long way to demonstrating competence in the line of work we are in. We take peoples safety, enjoyment and Adventure seriously and we want you to experience the best we can offer. This list is made up of just some of the bodies we either belong to or work with in order to ensure we deliver the very best we can to you.
The National Navigation Award Scheme:
Inward Adventures is a NNAS provider and can deliver the Bronze and Silver level awards. All or tutors have completed the NNAS tutors course and hold a relevant walking qualification with huge amounts of background experience to provide you with high standards of tuition and a fun and enjoyable course.
Mountain Training Association:
The Mountain Training Association is the Support and Development branch of Mountain Training, providing members with extra support and CPD opportunities. It was created in 2005 to support people working towards their qualifications and develop people who already have them.
Now well established with over 5,500 members it is the nationally recognised membership organisation for climbing, walking and mountain leaders in the UK and Ireland.
Danny and Sarah are both members of the Mountain Training Association as are many of the other staff members who work and support the delivery of Inward Adventures courses and Adventures.
Founded in 1977 by Robin and Susan Harvey to provide a professional map making service for the sport sport and orienteering industry. Harvey specialises in publishing maps for outdoor recreation, created from original mapping. Inward Adventures is part of Harvey's 'working together' scheme which aims to be of mutual benefit to professionals in the map-using field.
Inward Adventures can offer a 10% discount on Harvey maps for anyone attending any of our navigation courses or workshops.
The British Mountaineering Council:
The British Mountaineering Council (BMC) is the representative body that exists to protect the freedoms and promote the interests of climbers, hill walkers and mountaineers, including skis-mountaineers. The BMC recognises that climbing, hill walking and mountaineering are activities with a danger of personal injury or death. Participants in these activities should be aware of and accept these risks and be responsible for their own actions.
Danny and Sarah are both members of the BMC as are many of the staff members who work and support the delivery of Inward Adventures courses and Adventures. Inward Adventures supports and uses the BMC's participation statement.
