Beautiful Burrator Bimble

Starting and ending at Norsworthy Bridge, this circular walk covers around 10km (6 miles).


The route visits lots of amazing places including Sheeps Tor village and Sheeps Tor, the historic Meavy village and the impressive Burrator Dam.

We will bimble through woodland, witness stunning views, fascinating flora and fauna and discuss the history of the surrounding area. 

We welcome all abilities for this walk.However we advise that this walk can be challenging for some. It will use tracks and cross open moorland. Please be aware there are hills and undulating terrain Please contact usif you wish to discus more about this walk prior to booking.

Beautiful Burrator Bimble

  • In order for you to enjoy your Adventure even more we ask you bring the follwong with you.

    • A small rucksack.
    • A waterproof jacket and trousers.
    • A warm layer such as a fleace, jumper or jacket.
    • A hat and gloves.
    • A flask with a hot drink if you would like one.
    • At least 1 liter of water.
    • Snacks.
    • A camera if you wish to take any pictures. 

    Please ensure you wear clothing and footwear which is appropriate to the weather and for lowland walking on Dartmoor. The weather can be extreamly unforgiving and the terrain is undulating and uneven underfoot.

  • Norsworthy Bridge Carpark is located at the opposite end of Burrator Reservoir to the dam.

    We advise car sharing as the carpark can get full with other visitors to the area however there is another car park not far from here if it is full.

    Please consider where and how you park when arriving.

    You will be met in the car park by a member of staff before the walk begins.
