Positive Princetown Pootle

Starting and ending in the historic Dartmoor town of Princetown this circular walk takes in some fascinating locations on Dartmoor.

A great day out covering nearly 16km (10 miles).

​

The route takes in locations such as South Hessary Tor, Crazy well pool, the River Meavy, Foggingtor Quarry and North Hessary Tor.

​

During the walk we will discuss some of the history and mythology of some of these amazing locations as well as take a look at some of the fascinating flora and fauna we encounter. 

​

The walk will start and end in the the highest village on Dartmoor, Princetown. Dartmoor Prison, one of the 3 Dartmoor visitors centers and a small range of shops are located here as well as the town being home to the famous Dartmoor Brewery. At the end of the walk there will be an opportunity to enjoy a refreshing drink or some fine pub food, should you want to, in a historic Dartmoor pub.

 

We welcome all abilities for this walk. However we advise that this walk can be challenging for some. It will use tracks and cross open moorland. Please be aware there are hills and undulating terrain Please contact us if you wish to discus more about this walk prior to booking.
