Introduction to Climbing

Being able to  go and explore our world in many different ways can be exciting. Climbing lets us explore differently and see our world from a totally new perspective.

There are huge benefits to learning to climb. It is an exciting and different way to work out and get fit, as it combines both cardio and strength excersise. We can become more toned and increase our flexibility, and it burns calories, all while having an Adventure which we can take part in even on a wet day!

Climbing can also push our comfort zone as far as we chose to, and it can help us to challenge ourselves, face fears and can reduce stress!

All of this takes place at an indoor climbing wall where we can meet new people and share Adventures together!

This course will give you all the skills you need to get out to your local climbing wall and climb with a partner or boulder on your own.

During this course we will cover,

  • Indoor climbing walls, how they work and what you need to consider when visiting.

  • Bouldering walls and the grading systems.

  • Safe bouldering skills.

  • Climbing grades at an indoor wall.

  • Harness, shoes and belay devices.
